Terms of Service

By using PlantWatch (“the service”), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

The service

PlantWatch is an AI-assisted plant care tracking application currently in open beta. Features and availability may change without notice during the beta period.

Your account

• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
• You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
• You may not use the service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any applicable laws.

Your content

You retain ownership of any photos, plant data, and notes you submit. By uploading content you grant PlantWatch a limited licence to process it for the purpose of providing the service (e.g. sending photos to PlantNet for identification or to Claude for health analysis).

You must not upload content that is unlawful, harmful, or violates third-party intellectual property rights.

Third-party services

PlantWatch integrates with Supabase (database and storage), PlantNet (species identification), and Anthropic Claude (AI recommendations). Your use of these integrations is also subject to their respective terms and privacy policies.

AI-generated content

Care plans, health diagnoses, and species identifications are generated by AI models and are provided for informational purposes only. They are not professional horticultural or veterinary advice. PlantWatch accepts no liability for plant loss or damage resulting from following AI-generated recommendations.

Disclaimer of warranties

The service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose or merchantability.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, PlantWatch is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the service at any time, with or without notice, for violations of these terms. You may delete your account at any time from Settings.

Changes

We may update these terms. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance. We will update the effective date above.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-law provisions.
